NaBloPoMo Day 9: Afternoon out

*This was supposed to be posted yesterday but no wi fi at my parents' house has made me another day late for posting.

Yesterday was my first time being away from Bennett for a few hours.  My very dear friend is expecting her first baby in January and I was super excited to go to her shower.  I could have brought the baby, but the idea of wearing a cute dress and eating with both hands sounded really nice, plus he was about 10 mins away so I was able to feed him when he needed me.

Hubs gave Bennett about an ounce of milk while I was gone, which was really great sine we have a wedding to go to in a few weeks and this was a good bottle taking test run, though I have to admit that I was slightly sad knowing that someone else was feeding him.  I really missed my little pumpkin, and welcomed feeding him again after our few hours apart.

It feels good to have that relationship with breastfeeding this time around, because I don't know that I felt that with Jacob.  I missed him, and still do when we're apart, but I didn't always miss nursing him since it was so rocky in the early months.  I had a great time at the shower, and it was nice to be away for a bit and see my adorably pregnant friend, but just as satisfying as having my hands free was bringing my baby back into them.  :)
