Attached at the Boob: Bennett's 7 month & C2E2

Overflowing the basket!

My baby boy is 7 months old, or as my husband put it, "Closer to one year old than to birth". (Thanks, babe.) He's starting to scoot and is rolling all over the place, reminding me that I should start baby-proofing. He's also starting to grab his brother's toys, which has been a source of frustration for everyone. Thankfully, most of the time they are laughing together:

Heart. Bursting.

This past Saturday, Bennett went to his first convention! Since Tim's birthday is on Friday and we are both huge nerds, I arranged for his gift from our parents to be tickets to and babysitting the Cub for C2E2, Chicago's version of Comic Con. It's much smaller but was still super crowded. We had an amazing time, Tim bought some comic books from some writers he admires and I got Felicia Day and Peter Davison's autographs (Google it, kids).

Most of the fun of the convention is people-watching, especially since there are so many amazing costumes. Some of them were incredible and seemed very time consuming to put together. It was really refreshing to be in a place where you can freely wear a TARDIS on your shirt or sport a Rebel symbol and most of the people there not only understand what it means but they are as passionate about those things as you are. (Again, Google it.)

Bennett was mostly awake but stayed content in my Ergo most of the time we were there. One guy mentioned that he should be "facing out so that he can see everything", and I bit my tongue so as not to go on a rant about how facing out isn't good for baby and instead let my husband save me by saying, "he's right where he wants to be."

My Con essentials: TARDIS blue nail polish, an eyeshadow named "Bigger on the Inside", a lipgloss named "Health Potion", and this little notebook my SIL gave me which was a perfect Disneyland-style autograph book.
