What I ate Wednesday

Because of my efforts to eat better and generally take better care of myself, I was inspired by a few bloggers who do a weekly segment called What I ate Wednesday.  This seems like a good way to display what kinds of foods I eat on a regular day (the good and the bad!) and a way to hopefully motivate me to continue eating more nutritional foods rather than binge on carbs all day.

So here's what I ate today, 
remember, my food photography skills leave something to be desired:

On the toast: Natural peanut butter.
In the shake: Spinach, unsweetened soy milk, a touch of raw honey, mint, chocolate chips.

Recipe (I omitted the shrimp).
*Not pictured: a good greens bar for a mid-afternoon snack and a bowl of greek yogurt with some honey and a few mini chocolate chips in the evening.
Total calories: 1235 according to My Fitness Pal (might be more since I used a basic recipe search for the penne rosa)  Lots of chocolate, though in my defense, nursing makes me crave sugar and I have to allow myself some indulgences!
